J.LEAGUE Official Facebook Page reported that Indonesian star Irfan Bachdim will tomorrow officially be unveiled as a Ventforet Kofu player!
Irfan Bachdim was officially unveiled as a Ventforet Kofu player! His transfer was confirmed at a press conference in Jakarta which was also attended by Ventforet Kofu GM Satoru Sakuma and officials from Yamanashi Prefecture, the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia, and Garuda Indonesia - as well as more than 60 local journalists.
Contract negotiations have been finalised and all that remains is for the 25-year-old to undertake a medical at the club.
"First of all, I am very happy,” he told us ahead of tomorrow’s unveiling press conference at Garuda Indonesia HQ in Jakarta. "I am really happy to join Ventforet Kofu because I believe the J.League is the best place to improve myself as a player," Irfan said. "My target is not to score the goals but initially just to play as much as possible for the team and then to try and move the club into a higher position in J1.
"This is a new step in life and for my career. It was always my dream to come to Asia and search my way to a higher stage. And now I’ve reach this goal so I hope to play as many games as possible and to represent Indonesia in Japan because i know Indonesia has a lot of great football players.
"I hope my move will introduce Japanese football to Indonesian players. So hopefully I'm opening doors for them so they might come and follow and play football on a high stage like in Japan.”
What do you think about Irfan’s transfer? Can he be a success in the J.League?
